Company History

Founded in 1967 to provide the San Francisco Chronicle with a book publishing division, Chronicle Books was acquired in 2000 by longtime editor-in-chief Nion McEvoy who became its chairman and CEO. Today, Chronicle Books is a leading independent publisher of books, gifts, toys, and games with offices in San Francisco, New York City, and Bath, England, and Tyrrell Mahoney is the company's president. Chronicle Books also includes PAPress, Petit Collage, Ridley's Games, Games Room, Chronicle Chroma, Chronicle Prism, and Galison Publishing which includes Galison Gift, Mudpuppy, and Brass Monkey is also a subsidiary of Chronicle Books.
