Summary:
Hachette Book Group is seeking a highly organized and digitally savvy Manager, International Online Sales & Operations to join our International Sales team. This role is central to managing our global online retail partnerships, optimizing international ecommerce performance, and ensuring smooth operational workflows across territories. Key Responsibilities:
Online retail and digital account management in collaboration with international partners, including Amazon and other ecommerce platforms
Monitor and analyze sales performance, pricing, and metadata accuracy across online retailers to maximize discoverability and sales
Collaborate with internal operations, metadata, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and efficient title setup across international systems
Manage inventory forecasting, allocation, and fulfillment processes for international accounts to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize out-of-stocks
Work closely with the VP, International Sales to streamline global operations, enhance process efficiency, and support business planning
Develop and maintain regular reporting on online and operational metrics including sales trends, conversion rates, supply chain efficiency, and performance by territory
Partner with marketing and digital teams to optimize online merchandising, promotional placements, and author visibility in international markets
Serve as a key liaison with international distributors and warehouse partners to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and data flow
Coordinate cross-functional projects involving sales, marketing, operations, and finance to support new business opportunities
Conduct price and margin analysis across territories to ensure competitive positioning while maintaining profitability targets
Manage the International Edition program, coordinating with editorial, production, and sales teams to plan and execute localized publishing
Identify and scale local and regional printing opportunities to reduce shipping costs, improve speed to market, and support sustainability initiatives
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
3–5 years of experience in sales operations, ecommerce management, or supply chain within publishing
Strong analytical and technical proficiency, including comfort with large data sets and performance reporting
Familiarity with online retail environments (especially Amazon, Kobo, or regional equivalents) and related sales analytics tools
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable coordinating across teams and time zones
Experience with metadata workflows, and digital catalog management preferred
Comfortable working with both creative and operational stakeholders to drive shared objectives
A proactive, resourceful, and collaborative approach to continuous process improvement
Ability to travel internationally as needed

The compensation range for this position is $63,000 - $75,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
