Manage editorial development and production processes for International Codes and Commentaries, and related companion trade and text books in accordance with schedule constraints. Manage processes and schedules with respect to editing and graphics art staff and product specifications, ensuring conformance to ICCs requirements and objectives.

The Manager of Publications manages editing and graphics staff in various ICC offices.

As the first point of contact in Publications, the Manager is the point person for launch meetings and conference calls, to discuss potential problems or address issues prior to receipt of files.

The Manager of Publications monitors the departments current workload, estimated project submission dates, and requested or required availability dates, working in tandem with the Manager of Publications Production to assign staff. He or she communicates regularly with internal staff and outside authors, external typesetters and printers throughout the course of projects.

The Manager of Publications oversees the production and delivery of all printed products and reinforces quality control through utilizing editorial checklists, word lists and style guidelines. He or she also is responsible for creating, updating and disseminating in-house bi-weekly publications status reports and participating in bi-weekly status calls, and provides input as to projected expenses for the annual department budget. Additionally, the Manager of Publications is responsible for editing and project management for books and related print materials; therefore, he or she must meet the required qualifications for an ICC Staff Editor.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in related field from a four-year college or university AND five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project Management experience. PMP certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
